I honestly don't know where <I>Asahi</I> will be, though I am sure that the LDP is not counting the hide on that particular raccoon dog. The tabloids will slam the LDP and Mr. Fukuda in particular - <I>What did he know and when did he know it?</I> - but I do not have any idea what the TV wide shows will do with it, since I don't watch them. Keep an eye on Monta Mino. Sony has this cool Internet-based system that let's you watch Japanese programs live anywhere that you have a broadband connection.<BR/><BR/>Say, submit the bill to the Lower House on September 16 – two weeks from now! - after the regular Cabinet meeting, pass the bill in two weeks and send it to the Upper House, extend the Diet session as necessary, engage the opposition in a patient dialogue for 60 days, then do the deed in the Lower House. If you wait until the regular Diet session to submit/resubmit/continue reading the bill, then you run the risk of people thinking, if the Americans and Pakistanis and whatnot can wait this long, maybe they don't need us after all.
